irish landscapes

year: 2018
role: fine arts student under Mira Cantor

During my study abroad at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland, I was inspired by the country's vibrant, lush landscapes. When I looked back on some of the photos I had taken, I began to mentally deconstruct and distill these complex layers of color into their simplest forms; so was the inciting factor for my final project.

I created a series of illustrations in which I digitally deconstructed and abstracted the landscapes into minimal, organic shapes. I printed the abstractions and selectively re-constructed the key detail of the landscapes with pen and ink. The pieces are each sized A2.
